About Amnesia: The Bunker
Amnesia: The Bunker is a horror game played in first person, from Frictional Games, set in a bunker during the First World War. You play a French soldier trapped underground with a monster that hunts you, and survival means scavenging tools, crafting, and keeping a generator running so the lights stay on. Every playthrough plays out a little differently. It is single player, with mod support. The makers recommend a GTX 970 or RX 5600 XT and 8 GB of memory, so a mid-range gaming PC runs it well.
What Amnesia: The Bunker needs
In plain words: to play at all it needs almost any graphics, even the graphics built into the processor, and to play it well the makers suggest an entry-level graphics card, with 8GB of memory.
| Part | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Graphics card | OpenGL 4.0, Nvidia GTX 460 / AMD Radeon HD 5750 / Intel HD 630 | OpenGL 4.3, Nvidia GTX 970 / AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT / Intel Xe-HPG |
| Processor | Core i3 / AMD FX 2.4Ghz | Core i5 / Ryzen 5 |
| Memory (RAM) | 4 GB RAM | 8 GB RAM |
| Storage | 35 GB available space | 35 GB available space |

Will my computer play Amnesia: The Bunker?
On most computers we find the graphics card for you. Add your processor and memory, and we will tell you if it plays, and what to upgrade if not.
A low-spec PC or a high-spec PC?
The gap between the minimum and recommended spec is modest, so a mid-range gaming PC gives a good experience.
On a PC that only just meets the minimum, the game will start and play, but on low settings: simpler shadows and textures, shorter view distances and fewer frames each second, so fast moments can feel less smooth. A 1080p screen is the sensible match.
On a PC that meets or beats the recommended spec, you can turn the settings up: sharper textures, proper shadows and lighting, more detail in the distance, and a smoother picture. A stronger PC also lets you use a sharper 1440p or high-refresh screen.
