About Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a single player action game from Capcom that brings back the Onimusha series. Set in Kyoto, it follows the samurai Miyamoto Musashi, who wields a demon-powered gauntlet and fights the Genma, monstrous invaders spreading through the city, in brutal sword battles while searching for his own reason to fight. It is rated PEGI 18. It is fairly demanding: the makers recommend an RTX 2060 Super or RX 6600 and 16 GB of memory, and a stronger card helps.
What Onimusha: Way of the Sword needs
In plain words: to play at all it needs a mid-range graphics card from a few years ago, and to play it well the makers suggest a decent mid-range graphics card, with 16GB of memory.
| Part | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Graphics card | GeForce GTX 1660(6GB) / Radeon RX 5500 XT(8GB) | GeForce RTX 2060 Super (8GB) / Radeon RX 6600(8GB) |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 3 3100 | Intel Core i5-10400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 |
| Memory (RAM) | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Storage | 50 GB available space | 50 GB available space |

Will my computer play Onimusha: Way of the Sword?
On most computers we find the graphics card for you. Add your processor and memory, and we will tell you if it plays, and what to upgrade if not.
A low-spec PC or a high-spec PC?
The gap between the minimum and recommended spec is modest, so a mid-range gaming PC gives a good experience.
On a PC that only just meets the minimum, the game will start and play, but on low settings: simpler shadows and textures, shorter view distances and fewer frames each second, so fast moments can feel less smooth. A 1080p screen is the sensible match.
On a PC that meets or beats the recommended spec, you can turn the settings up: sharper textures, proper shadows and lighting, more detail in the distance, and a smoother picture. A stronger PC also lets you use a sharper 1440p or high-refresh screen.
