About Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a first-person shooter from Treyarch and the direct sequel to the original Black Ops. Its story campaign is set in the early 1980s during the Cold War, and there is also online multiplayer, a co-op Zombies mode and cross-platform play, with in-game purchases. Expect intense violence. It is rated PEGI 18. The makers recommend a GTX 970, GTX 1660 Super, R9 390 or RX 580 and 12 GB of memory, so a mid-range gaming PC runs it well.
What Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War needs
In plain words: to play at all it needs basic graphics: built-in graphics on a modern processor, or an old entry-level card, and to play it well the makers suggest an entry-level graphics card, with 12GB of memory.
| Part | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Graphics card | NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 670 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon™ HD 7950 | NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 970 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 Super or AMD Radeon™ R9 390 / AMD Radeon™ RX 580 |

Will my computer play Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War?
On most computers we find the graphics card for you. Add your processor and memory, and we will tell you if it plays, and what to upgrade if not.
A low-spec PC or a high-spec PC?
The gap between the minimum and recommended spec is modest, so a mid-range gaming PC gives a good experience.
On a PC that only just meets the minimum, the game will start and play, but on low settings: simpler shadows and textures, shorter view distances and fewer frames each second, so fast moments can feel less smooth. A 1080p screen is the sensible match.
On a PC that meets or beats the recommended spec, you can turn the settings up: sharper textures, proper shadows and lighting, more detail in the distance, and a smoother picture. A stronger PC also lets you use a sharper 1440p or high-refresh screen.
