About Green Hell
Green Hell is an open-world survival game from Creepy Jar set deep in the Amazon rainforest. You must find food and water, build shelter, treat injuries and illness, and fight off animals and tribes, while keeping an eye on your character's mental health as well as their body. There is a story mode, a pure survival mode, and online co-op so you can survive with friends. The makers recommend a GTX 970 or RX 580 and 8 GB of memory, so a mid-range gaming PC runs it well.
What Green Hell needs
In plain words: to play at all it needs basic graphics: built-in graphics on a modern processor, or an old entry-level card, and to play it well the makers suggest an entry-level graphics card, with 8GB of memory.
| Part | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Graphics card | GeForce GTX 660, Radeon RX 460 or equivalent with 2 GB of video RAM | GeForce 970, Radeon RX 580 or equivalent with 4GB of video RAM |
| Processor | 3.2 GHz Dual Core Processor | 3.2 GHz Dual Core Processor |
| Memory (RAM) | 4 GB RAM | 8 GB RAM |
| Storage | 8 GB available space | 8 GB available space |

Will my computer play Green Hell?
On most computers we find the graphics card for you. Add your processor and memory, and we will tell you if it plays, and what to upgrade if not.
A low-spec PC or a high-spec PC?
The gap between the minimum and recommended spec is modest, so a mid-range gaming PC gives a good experience.
On a PC that only just meets the minimum, the game will start and play, but on low settings: simpler shadows and textures, shorter view distances and fewer frames each second, so fast moments can feel less smooth. A 1080p screen is the sensible match.
On a PC that meets or beats the recommended spec, you can turn the settings up: sharper textures, proper shadows and lighting, more detail in the distance, and a smoother picture. A stronger PC also lets you use a sharper 1440p or high-refresh screen.

What graphics card do I need for Green Hell?
The makers say the minimum is GeForce GTX 660, Radeon RX 460 or equivalent with 2 GB of video RAM, and they recommend GeForce 970, Radeon RX 580 or equivalent with 4GB of video RAM. In plain words: an entry-level graphics card for a good experience.
How much memory (RAM) does Green Hell need?
At least 4GB, and 8GB is recommended. 16GB is the sensible amount for a gaming PC today.
Is Green Hell multiplayer?
Yes. You can play it single player, multiplayer, co-op or online co-op.
Can a gaming PC from Sandbox Computers run Green Hell?
Yes. 109 of our PCs meet the recommended spec, from £579. They are built and tested in Worcester.
How we match: we compare the graphics card and the memory in each PC with the makers' spec, because those decide most of how a game runs. For very new or demanding games, ask us and we will check the processor too. More help: graphics cards explained, how much RAM, which screen.
