About Need for Speed™ Heat
Need for Speed Heat is a street racing game from Ghost Games, set in Palm City, a sunny Miami-style city. By day you enter legal races to earn money for new cars and parts; after dark you race illegally to build your reputation while the police hunt you down, and the longer you stay out the more you risk. Cars can be tuned and styled in detail, and you can race alone or online with other players, across platforms. It is rated PEGI 16. The makers recommend a GTX 1060 or RX 480 and 16 GB of memory, so a mid-range gaming PC runs it well.
What Need for Speed™ Heat needs
In plain words: to play at all it needs basic graphics: built-in graphics on a modern processor, or an old entry-level card, and to play it well the makers suggest a mid-range graphics card from a few years ago, with 16GB of memory.
| Part | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Graphics card | AMD: Radeon 7970/Radeon R9 280x or Equivalent; NVIDIA: GeForce GTX 760 or Equivalent | AMD: Radeon RX 480 or Equivalent; NVIDIA: GeForce GTX 1060 or Equivalent |
| Processor | FX-6350 or Equivalent; Core i5-3570 or Equivalent | Ryzen 3 1300X or Equivalent; Core i7-4790 or Equivalent |
| Memory (RAM) | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Storage | 50 GB available space | 50 GB available space |

Will my computer play Need for Speed™ Heat?
On most computers we find the graphics card for you. Add your processor and memory, and we will tell you if it plays, and what to upgrade if not.
A low-spec PC or a high-spec PC?
The gap between the minimum and recommended spec is modest, so a mid-range gaming PC gives a good experience.
On a PC that only just meets the minimum, the game will start and play, but on low settings: simpler shadows and textures, shorter view distances and fewer frames each second, so fast moments can feel less smooth. A 1080p screen is the sensible match.
On a PC that meets or beats the recommended spec, you can turn the settings up: sharper textures, proper shadows and lighting, more detail in the distance, and a smoother picture. A stronger PC also lets you use a sharper 1440p or high-refresh screen.
Our PCs that meet the recommended spec
These should play Need for Speed™ Heat well. Cheapest first.
