About SCP: Secret Laboratory
SCP: Secret Laboratory is a free-to-play online multiplayer game from Northwood Studios, based on the SCP Foundation stories. A containment breach has struck an underground research site, and each round players are given different roles: staff trying to escape, security forces restoring order, rebels from the Chaos Insurgency trying to seize the site, or the dangerous creatures themselves. It mixes horror, shooting and chaotic teamwork. It is demanding for its type: the makers recommend an RTX 3060 and 6 GB of memory, and built-in graphics are not supported, so a stronger graphics card helps.
What SCP: Secret Laboratory needs
In plain words: to play at all it needs an entry-level graphics card, and to play it well the makers suggest a decent mid-range graphics card, with 6GB of memory.
| Part | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Graphics card | NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti or equivalent, 4GB VRAM, Intel Integrated Graphics not supported | NVIDIA RTX 3060 or equivalent, 8GB VRAM, Intel Integrated Graphics not supported |
| Processor | Intel I5 6600 or equivalent, 4 threads, x86-64-v2 or higher | Intel I7 6700 or equivalent, 8 threads, x86-64-v2 or higher |
| Memory (RAM) | 4 GB RAM | 6 GB RAM |
| Storage | 8 GB available space | 8 GB available space |

Will my computer play SCP: Secret Laboratory?
On most computers we find the graphics card for you. Add your processor and memory, and we will tell you if it plays, and what to upgrade if not.
A low-spec PC or a high-spec PC?
For this game the gap between the minimum and the recommended spec is big, so a better PC makes a very noticeable difference.
On a PC that only just meets the minimum, the game will start and play, but on low settings: simpler shadows and textures, shorter view distances and fewer frames each second, so fast moments can feel less smooth. A 1080p screen is the sensible match.
On a PC that meets or beats the recommended spec, you can turn the settings up: sharper textures, proper shadows and lighting, more detail in the distance, and a smoother picture. A stronger PC also lets you use a sharper 1440p or high-refresh screen.

Questions about SCP: Secret Laboratory on PC
What graphics card do I need for SCP: Secret Laboratory?
The makers say the minimum is NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti or equivalent, 4GB VRAM, Intel Integrated Graphics not supported, and they recommend NVIDIA RTX 3060 or equivalent, 8GB VRAM, Intel Integrated Graphics not supported. In plain words: a decent mid-range graphics card for a good experience.
How much memory (RAM) does SCP: Secret Laboratory need?
At least 4GB, and 6GB is recommended. 16GB is the sensible amount for a gaming PC today.
Is SCP: Secret Laboratory multiplayer?

Can a gaming PC from Sandbox Computers run SCP: Secret Laboratory?
Yes. 91 of our PCs meet the recommended spec, from £969. They are built and tested in Worcester.
How we match: we compare the graphics card and the memory in each PC with the makers' spec, because those decide most of how a game runs. For very new or demanding games, ask us and we will check the processor too. More help: graphics cards explained, how much RAM, which screen.
