About The Council
The Council is a narrative adventure from Big Bad Wolf, set in 1793 on a private island where powerful figures of the age have gathered. You play Louis de Richet, a member of a secret society searching for his missing mother, and you build your skills as you question guests, solve puzzles and make choices that change how the story unfolds. It is a single-player game told in episodes, and it is listed as free to download. The makers recommend a GTX 960 or R9 380 and 8 GB of memory, so a mid-range gaming PC runs it well.
What The Council needs
In plain words: to play at all it needs basic graphics: built-in graphics on a modern processor, or an old entry-level card, and to play it well the makers suggest an entry-level graphics card, with 8GB of memory.
| Part | Minimum | Recommended |

Will my computer play The Council?
On most computers we find the graphics card for you. Add your processor and memory, and we will tell you if it plays, and what to upgrade if not.
A low-spec PC or a high-spec PC?
This is a light game: almost any of our gaming PCs will run it comfortably at high settings.
On a PC that only just meets the minimum, the game will start and play, but on low settings: simpler shadows and textures, shorter view distances and fewer frames each second, so fast moments can feel less smooth. A 1080p screen is the sensible match.
On a PC that meets or beats the recommended spec, you can turn the settings up: sharper textures, proper shadows and lighting, more detail in the distance, and a smoother picture. A stronger PC also lets you use a sharper 1440p or high-refresh screen.
Our PCs that meet the recommended spec
These should play The Council well. Cheapest first.

Questions about The Council on PC
What graphics card do I need for The Council?
The makers say the minimum is 1 GB, GeForce GTX 750/Radeon R7 360, and they recommend 4 GB, GeForce GTX 960/Radeon R9 380. In plain words: an entry-level graphics card for a good experience.
How much memory (RAM) does The Council need?
At least 4GB, and 8GB is recommended. 16GB is the sensible amount for a gaming PC today.
Is The Council multiplayer?
It is mainly a single-player game.
Can a gaming PC from Sandbox Computers run The Council?
Yes. 109 of our PCs meet the recommended spec, from £579. They are built and tested in Worcester.
How we match: we compare the graphics card and the memory in each PC with the makers' spec, because those decide most of how a game runs. For very new or demanding games, ask us and we will check the processor too. More help: graphics cards explained, how much RAM, which screen.
